Enables AI desktop applications to interact with Autodesk Revit models through a set of predefined, read‑only tools for inspection and element selection.
The tool bridges AI assistants (Claude, Cursor, Copilot, etc.) with Revit, allowing the AI to query model data and select elements using 36 built‑in micro‑tools instead of generating custom code.
Q: Does the connector modify my Revit model? A: No. It operates in a read‑only mode, only inspecting and selecting elements.
Q: Which AI apps are supported? A: Claude Desktop, Cursor, and any MCP‑compatible desktop app such as Copilot in VSCode.
Q: What Revit versions are compatible? A: Versions 2022 through 2026.
Q: Do I need an internet connection? A: Yes, the AI service requires online access to communicate with the selected AI model.
Q: How are the tools discovered? A: Use the Search and Tools feature within Claude (or the chosen AI app) to view the full list of 36 micro‑tools.
The AI Connector for Revit connects AI Desktop Apps (like Claude, Cursor or Copilot) with Revit. Rather than generating new Revit code, the AI uses a set of 36 predefined tools to inspect and select elements based on model feedback.
Predefined Tools
Feedback-Driven Interaction
The AI invokes your tools and adapts to Revit’s responses, reducing errors from hand-crafted code.

Integration with Nonicatab
The “AI Connector” button appears in the Nonicatab toolbar after installation, and selecting the ready-to-use toolbar or tool.
Get the installer from Autodesk App Store.
Claude.
Install Claude Desktop App (read the Terms and Conditions, remember you are granting access to AI models to your Revit model). It is free and enough for a few tests, but you may need Claude pro for frequent use and conversation length.
Run Revit.
Start Revit (from 2022 to 2026), and select a toolbar that includes the AI Connector for Revit.
Run the AI Connector for Revit.
Go to Nonicatab toolbar in Revit and run the AI Connector. If Claude was opened, remember to restart Claude (close from corner next to Windows clock) after opening the AI Connector the first time.
Start asking.
While the AI Connector for Revit is open and active, Claude will be able to access your Revit model using a set of tools.
A selection of the available micro-tools is listed below. Use Search and Tools in Claude to see full list.
